Winning souls for Jesus Christ is what we’re all about! To be such a short about us statement, doesn’t mean it’s easy, because it can be very challenging.
We are a group of imperfect people seeking to know and love Jesus more. Our goal is to introduce every person we MEET, TALK TO, or SPEND TIME WITH, to the deep, unending and unconditional love of Jesus Christ. We want you to feel the love of Christ when you walk through the door ( as many people have said). You don’t have to be perfect to come to our church. We know it takes courage to try something new, like attending church.
We want NOTHING MORE than to help you know and experience the love of Jesus.

Pastor Kevin D. McNear, the son of the late Dr. Superintendent James Edward Preston McNear Sr and the late Florence Doris McNear , was born on April 15. 1964, in Des Moines IA. He is the Husband of Deborah McNear and the proud father of Kevin McNear (Jennifer McNear) Andrew McNear (Taylor McNear) and DeAnna Chapman (Cory Chapman).
Pastor Kevin McNear Sr. studied at Grand View University from which he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He studied theology at the Church of God in Christ Elders training where he earned his Elders License.
Pastor Kevin McNear has been a part of the Church of God in Christ since birth. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He served as Associate Minister of Greater St. Paul under the Leadership of Eastern District Bishop J.L. Shannon for twenty-three years. He was called by God to start New St. John Church of God in Christ in Omaha, NE.
He has a very fresh, unique and effective way of communicating God's Word. One of Pastor Kevin's Favorite sayings is, “Whatever it takes to win a soul”, which is the foundation of New St. John COGIC.

He is a successful businessman in our community. As the owner of 24/2 Child Care Center, where he has the opportunity to shape the lives of our young children on a daily basis.
Praiser, Prayer Worrier, faithful women of God have all been words to describe First Lady Deborah McNear. Deborah McNear is the First Lady of New St. John Church of God in Christ, Omaha, NE. She has served faithfully providing love and loyal support to her husband in ministry.
She serves in several capacities of ministry to include: Founder of the non-profit 3basicneedsplus.org
Lady Deborah McNear is the daughter of the late Deacon Clarence E. Smith and biological mom Hellece Smith who died at an early age in Deborah's life. Deborah McNear was raised by her step mom Pauline Smith and her father in Omaha NE. Lady Deborah McNear is the wife of Pastor Kevin McNear and cherishes her roll of mother and grandmother to her adult children Kevin McNear Jr. (Jennifer McNear) Andrew McNear (Taylor McNear) and DeAnna Chapman (Cory Chapman) she is faithful to the work of the lord. She is a humble woman of God.
First Lady Deborah McNear studied at the University of NE at Omaha from which she earned her Batchelor’s of Science in Management Information Systems. Lady McNear gave her life to Christ at an early age. Lady McNear loves her husband deeply and followed the vision that God gave him, in the birthing of New St John COGIC. She willingly stands by her husband stepping in fulfilling necessary roles in the ministry.
